Love for God and Holy Fear is what we all need. I learnt that while reading "Drawing Near".

It isn't about how much God will bless you. And how much God will forgive u even when you sin. If you haven't have that fear, you can't obey Him. (Then u keep sinning, and then u take his grace for granted... :S) Deut 5:29 says : Oh that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all my commandments.

Oh, and I finally found out what fear of God reallie is? You noe how everyone keeps saying you gotta fear God, fear God kinda thing? But what exactly is that? In the engilsh thesaurus, Fear can be substituted by being scared or afraid. BUT It's not the same as being scared of GOd? Did you noe that? OKie.. I'll quote abit from Bevere.

Bevere says in Chapter six of "Drawing Near", "The person who is scared or afraid of God has tsomething to hide; he doesn't want to come near because of that pure light of God's presence will expose what he hides.

God doesn't want us to be scared of Him. "God has not given u a spirit of fear" (2 Tim 1:7) Spirit of fear and fear of God are two different things!

Unlike the man who is scared of God, the man who fears God has nothing to hide. He knows his life is an open book before the Lord. He puts God's desires above all else. It's weighed heavier than that friends, family, or even hissoul wishes. He realises ther eis nothing more fulfilling than to obey God. He denied himself, took up his cross and is following Jesus. He lives for God."

And as Bevere puts it, "It always begin in our heart and manifests in our obedience!"

"Friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear him, with them he shares the secrets of his covenant." - Psalms 24:14

Cool stuff, his book sort of opened my eyes to see the obvious that I was once blinded from. It's amazing yeah? I seem to be promoting his book here? BUt it's not bad lah? You can borrow the book from me if u want? :)) Oh yeah, all the REAL people have the book! So you can ask them too :)
