GUess what?! My crazy lecturer just changed the exam format from an open book to a closed book exam! WOhoo! Just a mere 11 days before our paper. ANd I guess I'm not surprised to see everyone suddenly becoming so active in the discussion forum! Check out his email to us...

Dear Student of CEIC2000,

I write to advise you that the CEIC2000 exam information listed on
myunsw is incorrect.

The exam will be CLOSED BOOK, not open book.

We regret any confusion this may have caused. Remember that support in
your study is available in WebCT Vista right up until the exam.
However, if you leave your preparation until the final days you may find
you are unable to get help in the flood of others also seeking assistance.

It seems you really have 'opened' pandora's box here Dr. Bushell (excuse the pun) and I would recommend you do something about it rather than just leaving the student population to drown in their own confusion. I would personally start by explaining your motives for such an action.

As many others have said I find it hard to believe that it was merely a mistake/misprint on my.unsw (quoting your email) that caused this problem especially as you have throughout the year stressed the open book nature of this exam.

I am sorry but do not think to student community will merely accept this seemingly delusional decison. I know I will be continuing my work on the odd numbered questions in the textbook regardless.
